Less than a week to go

It is now only 5 days until I meet Ms Nobbenhuis’s robot.

I have ordered internet shopping.
I am almost sorted in my new craft room (how can anyone have THAT MUCH wool???)
I am trying to get on top of washing and ironing, and general house tidying and cleaning - however, this is tricky when you sort of gave up housework some years ago........

I have contacted my very old friend who doesn’t do social media to update her.

I have been visited by super kind friend and colleague Anne-Maria, who has purchased me 3 (yes, THREE) v pillows and covers, (I will need them apparently)  a bolster (because I shall need it to clutch), some peppermint cordial (for bloating and wind), some chocolates (for comfort- and just for luscious ness), some prune juice (for constipation), some de-caff tea bags (to prevent insomnia), and - my favourite - a BELL (to call for aid, assistance, food, drink, general ordering etc etc etc)......... Peter looks perplexed at the bell.

Anne-Maria also explained exactly how I will feel..... and told Peter just how much time he’ll need to be taking off work.

I think Peter has now decided that if he does as Anne-Maria suggests, then, by Christmas, I should be fine for cooking the festive meal!

I have also received through the post:

Calendula and Arnica homeopathic remedies from Sue B (another midwife who is a friend of a friend - so kind and thoughtful)
Medicinal Frankincense from Maria (my lovely Home Birth colleague and friend of over fifteen years)
Dutch sheeps wool slippers from Pippa (the sweetest and kindest St H midwife who worked with me in community before starting in the hospital)

This is as well as flowers galore, meals out, days at Kew Gardens (thank you Nicky - fellow hockey widow), pizza and film nights with Ali and Dave, beautiful scented candle from Aliwhee too, glass ornament from Cornwall from partner-in-crime Denys......... and the MAHOOSIVE hamper I’ve been given (and already talked about - and I know I have Susan to thank) but which I am still discovering the goodies within! (Dreadful dreadful grammar. Don’t care)

Today. Denys and I are going to the Royal Horticultural Halls to a Christmas fair (thank you Sam P for the tickets), and then this evening, I’ll be a-yelling and a-screaming at Streatham Ice Rink when my baby (if you can consider 6’4” still babyish) plays against the Peterborough Phantoms......

Life is good. And long may it continue!!
